The Takedown is the newest addition to the 10/22 line and has all the great features that you would expect from this line with a little something extra.

This easy takedown allows for quick separation of the barrel from the action.  You could see how this would be very convenient for transportation, storage and safety.

Intro to Firearms Class at Blue Ridge Arsenal

We have come out with a video highlighting some of the main points from our Intro to Firearms class.  Our Membership Coordinator Katie Meyers takes you through what you might expect when attending this class.  She is very passionate about getting new people into our doors and onto the range.  We know that it can be intimidating walking into a gun store and gun range where there are people who have been gun enthusiasts from right around birth.
Blue Ridge Arsenal wants to get you up to speed on your gun education.  What better way to familiarize yourself with weapons than shooting 10 different in one day!  Not only is it a great way to learn about how to shoot and meet fun people but we will also teach you everything you need to know about gun safety.

INTRODUCTION TO HANDGUN

1. 10 Student maximum
2. $125 for novice or new shooters
3. No firearms experience, firearms, or equipment is required

Students must be 21 unless accompanied by an adult for the entire course. This is not a course for CCW. The 4-hour Introduction to Shooting Course is limited to 10 students and is geared toward the novice or new shooter that has little or no firearms experience at all. The class is recommended for people who are interested in beginning shooting or thinking about purchasing a firearm but are not sure of what type of firearm they want. The class begins with the nomenclature of different types of pistols and ammunition. Safe firearm handling is introduced and stressed from the beginning of the class. After handgun familiarization the class reinforces fundamental firearm safety and the fundamentals of good marksmanship. On the range each member of the class is given the opportunity to fire rounds from a revolver and a semi-auto of different calibers to get a feel for the different types of handguns and calibers. Covered under the $125 registration fee are all materials, firearms, and ammunition used in this class. In addition, graduates receive a coupon for $20.00 off of their next new handgun purchase.

Shooting Range Etiquette

Many people will write off going to the shooting range because they feel overwhelmed by the entire experience.  Its very understandable, there is a lot to consider when shooting for your for your first time or your 1,000th time, but we at Blue Ridge Arsenal are here to help!  We encourage beginners to come into our range and we are more than happy to help you learn everything you need to know to start tearing up range targets.
Blue Ridge Arsenal has long been acknowledged as a safe knowledgeable and friendly environment for both the experience and novice shooter!
We require that all shooters must be 21 years of age or accompanied by someone who is: be or be with someone who is familiar with the firearms being used and an experienced shooter; and, upon entering the range have their own ear and eye protection. the ten Commandments of any Shooting Range

1. Watch that muzzle. Be sure that you are always point the gun in a safe direction if its loaded or not.
2. Treat every firearm with the respect due to a loaded gun.
3. Firearms should only be unholstered or uncased at the firing line, with the muzzle pointed downrange
4. Keep your fingers outside the trigger guard and off the trigger until you are ready to shoot.
5. Ear protection and eye protection must be worn before entering the range and at all times while inside the range fire area
6. Unload your firearm when its not in use
7. Point your firearm only at something you intent to shoot
8.Do not shoot the walls or ceilings or point your gun at anyone
9. familiarize yourself with the ammo restrictions of your range.
10. Avoid alcoholic beverages before and during shooting, after is fine with us.

Don't forget to have fun as well!

Great first time guns to shoot.

Shooting a 9mm for your first time is recommended for beginners.  Once you get familiar with with the 9mm you can step up to a higher caliber.
